BIO International Convention, San Diego 2022: Collaboration and Clinical Innovation

BIO International Convention 2022: Advancing Collaboration in Life Sciences

BIO International Convention 2022 brought the global life sciences community to San Diego from June 13–16. Denise McNerney of Global Life Sciences Alliance attended the event. Nearly 10,000 professionals participated, representing more than 3,000 companies worldwide.

In addition, the conference included over 250 exhibitors and 50 sponsors. Together, attendees reflected on recent advances while focusing on stronger collaboration to accelerate clinical development.

A “Limitless” Environment for Connection

This year’s theme, Limitless, was clear throughout the event. The expansive venue encouraged frequent one-on-one meetings and spontaneous conversations. As a result, networking felt active and intentional.

Meanwhile, speaker sessions covered key industry topics. These included therapeutic innovation, digital health, patient advocacy, and next-generation biotherapeutics.

Key Topics and Industry Momentum

Throughout the event, discussions ranged from emerging technologies to the industry’s response to new FDA Guidance to increase ethnic and racial diversity in clinical trials.

Moreover, decision-makers and senior leaders showed a strong appetite for networking, actively seeking new partnerships and long-term collaborations beyond the conference floor.

Notable Networking Highlights

A standout networking event hosted by Farmacon Global generated significant interest in their upcoming 2nd Annual Virtual Conference, scheduled for August 25. The event will focus on Rare Diseases in Emerging Markets and is open to biopharma professionals, government agencies, healthcare providers, and patients. The goal is to explore the patient journey and encourage the development of treatments for rare diseases.
