Conference Report | BIO International Convention: San Diego, 2022

Global Life Sciences Alliance executive Denise McNerney attended the 2022 BIO International Convention in San Diego California from June 13th – 16th. Around 10,000 attendees, 3,000+ international and domestic companies, 250+ exhibitors, and 53 sponsors came together to discuss the advances of the last year while striving to improve collaboration to accelerate clinical development.

The theme of this year – Limitless – was felt in the atmosphere as the conference covered a large event space and provided many opportunities to network and partner one on one. Speakers and thought-leader discussions covering a variety of therapeutic areas, business development, digital health, patient advocacy, public policy, and next-generation biotherapeutics.

The topics entertained by attendees ranged from technological advancements to efforts in light of the new FDA Guidance to increase ethnic and racial diversity in clinical trials. Decision makers and high-power industry personnel flocked to the BIO conference and displayed an eagerness to connect and expand their networks, seeking opportunities among the saturated mass to improve their business and carve the path for connection beyond the conference floor.

A networking event hosted by Farmacon Global was a great success, generating interest in their 2nd annual virtual conference taking place on August 25. The conference will focus on Rare Diseases in Emerging Markets with an open invitation for Biopharma professionals, government agencies, the medical community and patients to come together and discuss the patient journey and encourage the development of treatments for rare diseases.
