The December FOCM | GLSA Networking Event

Dec 13, 2023 event

This was our 2023 year end networking event. It was a fun and casual event. People were encouraged to wear holiday hats. There were several cute and fun hats on display. We also heartily wished Happy birthday to Taylor Swift!

As per usual we shared our link to get on our mailing list for future live and virtual events:

As our passion is to connect people and companies we know and respect to other people and companies we know and respect, we ask that everyone put the link to their LinkedIn profile in the chat to allow for easy connecting and future follow up.

We opened with industry updates, news and gossip.  ASH was held earlier this week in San Diego and it was well attended. It is typically the last large therapeutic conference of the year.

We then played a couple jeopardy type trivia games. Categories in one game were industry abbreviations, facts and consolidation. A sampling from each category:

  • What does RBQM stand for?
  • What company purchased Paidion?
  • What year was the Food and Drug Administration established?

Denise kept track of the answerers and whether they were right or wrong. Winning the Gold Medal was Violet Votin followed by a silver medal to Lauren Sherwood.

Next month presenter will be Don Tinker with Hobson Associates discussing the impact Covid had on the industry job market and the current state of recruitment
