French Toast

Ingredients:
- 4 slices of bread (preferably thick-cut or day-old bread)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk (or cream for a richer texture)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- Butter or oil for frying
- Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit (for serving)
What You’ll Need:
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk or fork
- Large skillet or frying pan
- Spatula
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Plate and paper towels
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar (if using).
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil to coat the pan.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated.
- Place the coated bread slices onto the heated skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and place on a plate. Serve with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
