July 2021 FOCM | GLSA Networking Event

Life Sciences Virtual Networking Event Recap | July 21, 2021

So, it happened again! On July 21, 2021, the Global Life Sciences Alliance (GLSA) and FOCM (Friends of Chris Matheus) hosted another successful virtual networking event. The session was well attended, with 22 industry professionals joining the conversation.

We kicked off the meeting with a brief recap of our June 16 event. Because themes are always popular with the GLSA team, we also declared the day UV Safety Awareness Day, adding a light and engaging touch to the discussion.

Next, we reviewed the agenda and guidelines for how these networking sessions are structured. Chris then formally introduced GLSA members to the broader FOCM community, helping set the stage for meaningful connections.

After general introductions and open discussion, our Zoom Room Administrator, Brandon, randomly assigned attendees into breakout rooms of approximately four people each. Each breakout session lasted about 12 minutes. After returning to the main room to share highlights, participants were reshuffled into new groups, allowing everyone to meet a wider range of professionals.

In the breakout rooms, attendees introduced themselves, shared their current roles and past experience, and explored ways they could support one another. As a result, valuable information was exchanged and several new connections were formed—many of which have the potential to support and improve the management of clinical trials.

GLSA and FOCM host these social networking events every month. If you’d like to join a future session, please contact Zulma Varela for an invitation.
