The November FOCM | GLSA Networking Event

As our passion is to connect people and companies we know and respect to other people and companies we know and respect, we open the meeting asking everyone to put the link to their LinkedIn profile in the chat. This facilitates future communication and connections. 

Before we had our featured network member begin their portion of the event, we shared industry info and upcoming conferences. For networking purposes we had everyone share their LinkedIn profiles. Leading up to the presentation we also discussed new companies involved in finding patients for clinical trials or publicizing clinical trials.  In particular, we discussed these: iEnroll Digital, OntimeTrials, Sieve Health, Findmecure, and HealMary.com.

iEnroll Digital was the evening’s featured company. Freddie Sexton and Andy McWilliams were the co-presenters.  They talked about the “blind spot” in the patient experience in clinical trials. From the informative outreach to getting the patient in for the first visit, there needs to be warm, amicable customer service. Pointing out that improving the care that goes into patient recruitment increases patient enrollment and retention while making a more cohesive and integrated enrollment team. The discussion delved into the challenges faced by clinical research coordinators, turnover rates, and the impact of COVID-19 on staffing. Participants also shared insights into specific feasibility issues and solutions, including the use of AI and vendor services.

 Reminder of these meetings guidelines: 

• Think of this as an open house event – drop in when you can and leave when you need to; 
• When we have a presenter we have them start when we have assembled a strong amount of respondents – usually 10-15 minutes after the start. 
• Presenters’ topics are not sales pitches – the focus is on an aspect of clinical trials; where in the process their services are used and aspects of that step.
